Quality Controls
At Exchange-A-Blade, we take quality seriously. We’ve even built a state-of-the-art quality control lab for that very purpose. Every product shipment that we receive is inspected and tested for quality, performance and longevity. Only those that pass these tests make it to the marketplace.
Furthermore, to ensure we provide our customers with the best available products, we also test our competitors against ourselves. When say we have the best performing products, we can prove it!
When used products are returned to Exchange-A-Blade, we do more than simply resharpen or refurbish them, we remanufacture them. Our remanufacturing process is a rigorous four-step procedure that results in blades that are indistinguishable from new.
Here’s how our process works:
- All products are scrutinized for damage, balance and flatness. Those that do not meet our stringent standards are sent for recycling.
- Those that pass inspection are sent through an initial cleaning and polishing process to remove scoring, wood pitch, glue and rust.
- Each cutting edge is individually inspected. Worn or damaged cutters are replaced and ground to razor sharpness with fine diamond grit wheels on state of the art, computerized, sharpening machines.
- Rigorous quality control checks at each stage ensure all EXCHANGE-A-BLADE products meet or exceed industry specifications.
Our stringent quality control system ensures that every remanufactured product meets a standard of precision and performance that is equal or superior to a new one.
