Exchange Processing

Easy steps for cashiers handling an exchange transaction

When customers bring back a used item to exchange for a new product, follow these easy steps at the customer service or cashier’s desk.

Step
1

IDENTIFYING AN EAB EXCHANGEABLE BLADE

Make sure the return product is exchangeable. All Exchange-A-Blade and Razor Back exchangeable blades will have the exchange symbol on the front label. In the middle of the exchange symbol, you will see a white diamond with the credit dollar amount. e

E.g., CREDIT AMOUNT $33.00

Note: In some cases the label may be damaged, illegible, or missing. If this is the case, check for the 12-digit exchange code (see Step 3). If there is an exchange code on the return product, you can be sure it is an exchangeable blade.

Step
2

LOCATING AND SCANNING THE UPC PURCHASE CODE

Locate the new replacement blade’s standard UPC barcode and number on the front of the blade and scan it. The full purchase price will be registered and displayed in the sales system.

E.g., NEW PRICE $63.99

Step
3

LOCATING AND ENTERING THE EAB EXCHANGE CODE

The exchange code is a 12-digit number beginning with 059511. It references the credit value (in dollars) of the return product, and is engraved on the diameter of blade’s steel plate and printed on the back label (there is no exchange bar code).

Key in the used blade’s 12-digit exchange code. It is entered and processed in the same way as any other store credit or exchange—typically using a “-1” or credit/refund key in combination with the code.

E.g., USED CREDIT $-33.00

Step
4

CHARGING THE CUSTOMER

A credit is registered and applied towards the customer’s purchase.

E.g., CUSTOMER PAYS $63.99 - $33.00 = $30.99

Step
5

SAVING THE RETURNED ITEMS

Place returned blades in your EAB exchange bin. The next time your territory manager visits your store, he/she will verify the items with you, issue you with an electronic credit, and pick up the blades for recycling or remanufacturing.
